Rosetti purse, less than one year old - Question

I purchased a Rosetti purse earlier this year at Kohl's but cannot locate my receipt. I love the purse as it has a place for my cell phone and other storage places. The zippers and the insides of the bag are in great shape as is the exterior. The problem is that one side of the strap has torn away from the rest of the purse. I am not one who is usually hard on purses and do not know how this could have happened. I tried to return it to Kohls but I did not have the receipt and the clerk could not find it on my account in the past 6 months.

Am I expecting too much to think the handbag should last longer? I have others that are a couple of yrs old to several yrs old that are still in good condition. Should I just throw it away and avoid purchasing this brand in the future? Any suggestions? Thanks, Janice in Idaho
