Miuccia Prada
Miuccia Prada is a woman's designer. Prada, originally Prada Brothers (Fratelli Prada), is an Italian Fashion House founded in 1913 by Mario Prada. M.Prada was born in 1949. After university, she entered the family business 1978 and soon revolutionized the appearence of its products. About the same time as she took the helm of the Prada label, Miuccia married Patrizio Bertelli. Bertelli took on the role of business manager, allowing Miuccia to focus on designing and perfecting the new Prada look. • In 1985, she designed a line of black, unlabelled, hard-wearing but finely-woven nylon handbags that immediately became must-haves. • Prada launched her eponymous ready-to-wear collection in autumn/winter 1989 to critical acclaim. • In 1993 she won a Council of Fashion Designers of America International Award . This women
designer, who is entirely in charge of the companies creative
decisions,
says she bases her decisions mostly on intuition. She is reported to be
overly fussy about each detail of her design.
She also
created
Miu Miu collection, the youngest
line by Prada .
