Looking for a Burberry Bag? How to spot a fake?

Trying to distinguish in person between genuine and fake Burberry is often difficult, especially when you're in a reputable vintage or secondhand store, where items often don't have their original tags and packaging.

There are several counterfeit items at such stores. A large number of counterfeit goods are sold by unauthorized dealers (boutiques, secondhand stores, flea markets, eBay, etc.).

Some Tips:

Details to look for include inconsistent stitching and sloppy construction in less visible areas, such as the underside of the bag or inside pockets. The cost of some luxury products lies in the details of construction. They cost more because they are built more complexly. Counterfeit products oftentimes do not have the care of construction that the real item has. If the construction looks simplistic, it's likely to be a faux manufacture.

The pattern in both the Nova Check and Classic Check must match. The pink/red line and the black stripes must meet on the side and on the bottom. If you have any Burberry purses with separate sides like the bag below, the two sides must be mirror image of each other meaning both sides are identical to one another.

All Burberry handbags are made in Italy. The leather tag in some purses might not have the letter and number sequence behind and that is okay if everything else checked out.

Hardware used in Burberry bags or wallets comes in two colors.Silver-toned and Gold-toned.

The bag's hardware will have one of those colors and the embossing on the inside leather tab must match the color of the bag's hardware. If the bag have silver-toned hardware, the embossing the on the inside leather tab must also be in silver.

The paper tag and box that came with Burberry products is a very dark blue color with Burberry.

If you buy from e-Bay make sure the pictures you see are the actual bag you will get. Even if the seller has provided numerous pictures, ask for one more. If they cannot provide one, stay away. The item is probobly not in their posession and therefore, the pictures shown are not of the actual item.
